What does MJ think?
I had no idea this was going on. I'm so out of the comics loop. This is what the rest of you must feel like.
Interesting that Peter (who has a wife and an aunt and no government support) would be ok with this, yet "Super Soldier" Steve Rogers (Capt. America) who has all the backing in the world and who hangs out pretty exclusively with the likes of Tony "Alchoholic Man- er, Iron Man" Stark would be against it. (Of course, now that I think of it Rogers would be standing up for the little guy. I bet he even threw in a "I remember back in 1941" speech. The man was raised on the New Deal, so I suppose that makes sense.) Again, it's a case where the metaphor and alegory is interesting, but as soon as you try to apply it to real-world conditions it falls apart. It's not an invasion of privacy - you're putting on a mask and fighting CRIME! You're Bernie Goetz with a cape! And NO it's not "JUST LIKE" Guantanamo! There's a reason that Batman and Superman used to run from the COPS back in the day!
Anyone know if J. Michael Straczynski is still writing Spidey? When Aunt May FINALLY found out about her nephew's "great powers and great responsibilities" it was brilliant. Especially her "To Do List" that included "Forgive Peter" and "Buy more Zantac". (Even more brilliant was when she realized her old flame Dr. Otto "Doctor Octopus" Octavius was, well, the bad guy. Heh.)

Heh...I'm even more out of it that you, but it's good to see Marvel finally getting around to doing a superhero registration act. Heck, that was a staple of Champions campaigns wayyyy back in the early 90's! ;)
I read this today, and now it seems...timely...or something-
Comic Book Heroes Faith-by-Faith
What? No Daredevil? THE Catholic superhero?
Just skimming through these, I rather distinctly remember the first issue of X-men introduces Jean G. to the existing X-men: Cyclops, Beast, Iceman, and Angel. IIRC. (I haven't read that since I was nine.)
Dunno about the Waynes, but if Selena Kyle was anything other than Catholic I'll read a Todd McFarlane book.
Here is a more complete list. I think I got the list from PVP.
The funny thing is I stopped by a comic book store yesterday to kill some time before an appointment, and I saw this book before I read your blog. How timely.
